Devin announced hierarchical budgets, a tool for enterprises to manage AI spend in line with their organizational structure. The system lets administrators set a root Account budget and create child budgets up to three levels deep, assigning limits to departments, projects or users.
Admins can delegate budget ownership one layer down, allowing department heads to set and approve sub‑team limits. The announcement cites an example where a central IT leader allocates budgets to ten departments, and a engineering manager can grant a temporary 5,000‑ACU increase for a launch week while staying within a combined 30,000‑ACU cap.
Per‑user allowances can be defined within each budget, and the feature is available to customers on a Devin Enterprise plan via the Usage Policies → Budgets settings.
