Devin Cloud Enhances Automation Capabilities

Security profiles are now generally available, enabling admins to define and apply network access policies across sessions and automations.

Devin Cloud has released a series of updates to enhance automation capabilities, improve user experience, and strengthen security. The latest release introduces queueing support for automations, allowing users to set the maximum number of concurrent runs and queue depth per automation. This feature provides greater control over automation workflows and helps prevent overload.

What Shipped

The update promotes the automations API from beta to the production v3 API spec, enabling more robust automation management. Additionally, a devin_automation resource is now available in the Devin Terraform provider, simplifying infrastructure management. GitLab support has also been added, allowing automations to be triggered by GitLab events such as issues, issue notes, pushes, and pipelines.

The release also includes improvements to the command palette, making it easier to search and navigate within the platform. Figma links shared in chat can now render as live embeds in link preview cards, enhancing collaboration and design workflows. Furthermore, a broad accessibility pass has been implemented across the webapp, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Security and Access Control

Security profiles are now generally available, enabling admins to define and apply network access policies across sessions and automations. Personal access tokens have also been introduced, providing a secure way to authenticate with Devin programmatically. These tokens are automatically revoked when a user loses account membership, ensuring that access is properly managed.

Implications for Builders

The updates to the Automations API and Terraform Provider provide developers with more flexibility and control over automation workflows. The addition of GitLab support expands the range of triggers available for automations, enabling more complex workflows to be built. The introduction of security profiles and personal access tokens also provides developers with more options for managing access and authentication within their applications.
