Devin Cloud Updates

The new cleanup scan type finds dead code and cleanup opportunities in your repositories.

Devin Cloud has released several new features to enhance user experience and improve code management. The session sidebar now allows grouping by pull request status or repository, and filters have been expanded to include Devin mode. A new cleanup scan type has been introduced to identify dead code and cleanup opportunities in repositories. Additionally, users can start a code scan directly from the composer using the /scan command.

What shipped

The latest updates to Devin Cloud include a range of features aimed at streamlining code scans and automations. The new cleanup scan type is designed to find dead code and cleanup opportunities, making it easier for developers to maintain their repositories. The /scan composer command provides a convenient way to initiate code scans, while the redesigned findings tab simplifies the triage process.

Scheduled scans are now supported in automations, allowing users to schedule recurring scans or re-scan new commits automatically. The automation runs also provide richer event details for various triggers, including GitLab, Jira, incident.io, and GitHub. Furthermore, Slack users who are not members of the session’s organization will receive warnings when their replies cannot reach Devin, ensuring clearer communication.

Implications for builders

These updates are likely to benefit developers and teams using Devin Cloud, as they provide more efficient ways to manage code and automate scans. The new features can help reduce manual effort and improve code quality, making it easier for builders to focus on development.

Caveats

While the updates bring significant improvements, it is essential to review the documentation and release notes to ensure a smooth transition to the new features.
