Cognition adds Grok 4.6 to Devin Desktop and CLI with XHigh reasoning mode

Grok 4.6 marks a significant improvement over Grok 4.5, surpassing GPT-5.6 Sol, behind only Opus 5 and Fable 5.

Cognition announced that Grok 4.6 is now available on both Devin Desktop and the Devin command‑line interface. The update adds a new reasoning effort called XHigh.

In a post on X, Cognition said the model “marks a significant improvement over Grok 4.5, surpassing GPT‑5.6 Sol, behind only Opus 5 and Fable 5.”

One user, @JustinGorya, reported that the model “is extremely smart and efficient” and that it “beats GPT‑5.6 Sol Max in my work.” The user also noted that pairing Grok 4.6 with Devin’s Agent “is a no‑brainer.”
