Cognition is welcoming The Interaction Company of California—makers of Poke, the personal agent that lives in your texts—into the fold. Scott Wu’s note frames it as a bet both teams already share: always-on cloud agents.

Why it matters on this desk

Devin’s lane has been enterprise software engineering. Poke’s lane is consumer messaging—proactive follow-ups, native Apple Messages, and (per Cognition) 100M+ messages in three months. The acquisition thesis isn’t “chatbots for PRs”; it’s making Devin feel more like a partner that initiates, remembers, and sticks around.
